June 08 World History

there was some question with outlandish african, i guess, nations or city-states, in it. not sure if you guys got that one, it was one of the few on africa. i skipped it. lol.

and im positive that the quote question about england was merchantilism, not racism. england was merchantilist, and it was talking about merchantilist trade philosophy. merchantilism was what he was using to warrant his whole argument he was making. and just think - the english weren’t known for their stark racism against blacks (at least in textbooks), but they were known for merchantilism. and again, everyone knows what racism is, the merchantilism choice requires you to know what it is, thus testing your historical knowledge. lol.

Was there a question about the creation of a new language in Africa because of ties to Arabic traders? Swahili?

yea there was i confirm it

The remaining 10-12 questions are probably pretty easy if no one can remember them…

i remember seeing swahili on the test. and not remembering exactly where it was from. lol.

oh yea there was… it said somethng about swahili was influenced by, ARAB TRADERS or something like that

Yeah.

Pretty sure it was a question, only the answer is Yalta, not Tehran.

That was definitely not a question.

yea that was not a question or i skipped it

You probably both took the same practice test.

come on guys we just need 13 or so more! Where is everyone.

The answer to the question on Swahili is that Swahili was influenced by Arab traders (the language was a blend of Bantu and Arabic, as well as some smaller influences).

Also, the question about Bantu’s migrating did not say where they were coming from. THe answer choices were something like: they migrated to south and central africa/ they migrated to north africa… I’m pretty sure.

i love you guys!! you have amazing memories that i crave!

we also need the question about which areas influenced the swahili language the most…or sumthing like that

Strain in American-Mexican relationship in 1930s : immigration workers

I’m pretty sure the answer to this question was that Mexico was seizing the oil industries which had previously been controlled by the US. Also, Swahili was definitely influenced by Arabic.

yea, i put that they were influenced by arabic and indian ocean region or wutever… but i do remember that arabic was paird with some other country/region.
