H2O2 + H2 -> H2O + O2???

Are you sure? It seems rather complicated with oxidation of both oxygen and hydrogen and also the reduction of oxygen?

Was it just a balancing question?

"If you got decimals, then multiply the whole thing by a number to get integers.

If you got integers, then change the numbers that you chose to plug in."

Oops, I meant negatives.

cool strategy afruff i’m totally going to use that next balancing one, if its difficult. Yeah jenkster I thought it might be something else, I was soo confident the answer was 2 at the time???

and pinki do you have those questions yet!! you got me excited!

Afruff - the main thing you have to worry about with that method is redox reaction (which the alleged reaction is). You’d have to have as many electrons lost as gained.

okay, I’m in AP chem and have done redox reactions.

I don’t think doing redox with this reaction works because for redox you do 2 half-reactions: one oxidation and one reduction. In this case there would be 3 half reactions since two things are oxidized and one thing is reduced.

Bottom-line: You can’t solve this by doing redox or this equation is wrong (more likely).

Ya, I don’t think this was the exact equation on the test. It’s just too weird.

I am pretty sure it was 4 in the equation guys but the QUESTION might have asked something else which could have been a different number… so yeah.

This makes no sense and I am confused. I remember 2 for some answer on the chemistry SAT II. end of story.

Well, I remember 60.

Damn. I am guessing in total I got 9 pts off. I know of 6 already…

stupid SAT IIs.

Don’t despair. After both my SAT I and Bio SAT II I came on CC and got SO depressed because after reading all the discussion I was sure that I bombed the tests… but I ended up with really good scores both times.

And yet here I am again… don’t ask.

Yeah, CC is really both a blessing and a curse! Its unfortunate no one really knows the curve either. Its unsettling to see all the answers I got wrong though…

I was really disappointed after the test. I spent way too much time on the T/F/CE section and ended up rushing through a lot of the test.

I skipped 7 questions, and I’m prone to stupid mistakes. So I’m assuming a score around 730. Ugh.

I was stuck on a gas question for the longest time… I knew I could work it out so I kept doing it and wasted a lot of time. Ended up rushing near the end and skipped 2.

Anyone remember that gas question? I think it asked for temperature change give a certain change in pressure and volume?

YES I REMEMBER THAT. I don’t remember the answer though. But I think 27 had something to do with that. Maybe original temperature…or volume. or something? not the answer though.

I think I got 400/300…for something…

Ah me too!! =D I think…

Ahaah, GOOD! Was that for that question, or for another one? And do you remember any one having to do with H2O2, no one can remember the equation

Wasnt it like 75/76K?

I got 75 K for another one, Yunu. But not 75/76 K  for this one. What are you referring to?
