June 2008- Math Level 2

Again, for number 32 the range is all numbers greater than -1.38, not -1.93

lol you guys got good @$$ memory…when i got back i could only remember like 7

haha i dont remember my answer but that was an easy question so hopefull i got it right

Well I wasn’t the one who posted #27, it was post #238 by Sixthsense and I merely copied his info. Note in #239 zmoose says its 16.91, I think we can rule they are equivalent.

so…27 and 49 nine are the same…

i think i remember 16.91…hahahaha

OK, they are the same problem. But my solution is correct there was no 15 or sin in the problem.

wait…I thought it required either sin or cosine to solve though…elaborate Jamesford please

u could use sine if u want lol

but it was quickest to use cosine

Triangle BAC has A = 43 degrees, AC = 12.43 (close enough), what is AB?
about 16.9

So it’s a cosine problem, cos 43 = 12.43/AB. AB = 12.43/cos 43 ~ 16.9
12.43 isn’t exact, but it was 12.something

wait, it’s just using the angle given and dividing the length given by the cosine(or sine) of the angle, right?

if it’s 12.something, then the answer cannot be 16.9 though…

^ Why not? cos 43 is about .73135, so 12.43/.73135 ~ 16.9
I already said the 12.43 is not exact.

oh…freaking google calculator gave me the wrong answer. my bad…

Specifics don’t matter; we know it was a triangle problem where you are given an angle a side and need to find an another side and that the answer was 16.91 which is enough for indentification purposes.

Those last 2 problems are really bugging me lol.

They are probably simple ones like the (x-5)^3 = 15 as well.

anyone get last two? :P
