June 2009 - Mathematics Level 2

" The 6 wasn’t the side they asked for."
ok thankss
yea i knew it seemed to easy loll

Dang - I think I put down like 320 or something for the temp question - did you just use the formula they gave you or did you change it?

what about the period of the absolute value of tan(2x)

it was pi/2 right

Yep, simple graphing the equation

Kiru, that’s correct.

wasnt it pi??? not pi/2 since period = 2pi/B
so 2pi/2=pi?

…so many arithmetic sequences, BLEHHHHHHHh

tan has period of pi, not 2pi like sin and cos

I also got pi/2, and I got -24 for the celsius one. Was the prism with the pentagon ten edges? I said ten but that may be incorrect.

Arken, isn’t that fifteen?

The thing is if u graph abs(tan(2x)) u get a graph with a period of 4pi atleast it take 4pi to repeat itself

And is the sequence one -1-2i?

i also put 15

what did you guys say for the triangle pattern one where the first row had one, the second had 3 etc

the Fahrenheit question was -40, that’s the crossover point

pi/2 was the tan answer… I got the temp wrong, and the prism was 15.

^^^ no it wasnt u forgot to factor in the “twice the measure”

I should have studied more. Didn’t do anything until some sparknotes practice tests yesterday. It’s tough to really study it, because there’s so much stuff. You just have to hope the stuff you see on the practice tests shows up on the real ones.

-40 isn’t the answer… it said it was equal to half of it…

I used arithmetic sequence for the triangles rows… I think it was 201.

seriously? that’s ■■■■■■■■

what was the answer to the triangle one where it increases by 2. the 100th term of the sequence.
