***June 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

I hate the PSAT. I was one point away from NMSF.

Do you guys have any tricks for the ACT science?

I’m applying with a sort of low, medium, high concept-not too many schools.
Low-ASU Get a ton of money, AZ resident, self explanatory
Med-USC @Shrekhanal‌ maybe I’ll see you there! haha
High-Harvard God please hypnotize the admissions officers lol
3.98/4.7 bout to find out SAT, thinking at least 2250

@GodsGem322 Just shows how messed up those essay graders are… Some of the best writers get <9s
@rman10 #iknowthemfeels :frowning:

@mizejonathan17‌ I’ve actually heard good things about TCC. I’ll be taking CLEP’s so I opted out of dual credit/summer classes/etc, but I may end up taking a few pre-reqs there. Oh, and trust me, that essay sucked. xD I shudder when I read it. Lol

I got 218 PSAT. 70CR, 75M, 73W. Should get me NMSF in AZ, USA.

@couga7 wow that’s a stellar gpa. I’m sure you will look competitive wherever you apply

I think I’m starting to reach that part of sleep deprivation where I’m actually energized. Why does collegeboard torment me??

@couga7‌ That is awesome! Lol my test environment sucked and I wish I had gotten that high. A friend of mine who scored similarly to my scores on the SAT landed a 199. Which sucks because she really, really wanted commended.

@Shrekhanal‌ Only really noteworthy EC I have is scouting and being an Eagle Scout. The rest are just basic stuff that everybody has. Tore ACL so I couldn’t play varsity tennis this year after grinding out JV as a frosh/soph…

SAME, I kinda wanna go out and run a half marathon. Demanding on my scores

So basically I have a good GPA and hopefully SAT, but my ECs are weak and seeing as I’m cookie cutter white christian upper-middle class male that doesn’t help lol But hey admissions is a crapshoot and no reason for any of us to talk ourselves out of shooting high

@couga7‌
Colleges actually don’t care about quantity; more about quality. Anyone can just sign up for 12 clubs

My EC’s are:
Choir (all four years of HS, one year All-Region Choir)
Tae-Kwon-Do (1st Degree Black Belt, took 7 years to get it)
Leadership (over 150 hours)
Community Service (over 150 hours)

Not sure of my GPA since my mom is still calculating it (hectic year) but she is estimating 3.5 - 4.0. Not counting the Honors classes.

Hmmmmm, I feel like minority status might help me out in some of these southern schools. I’m a low middle class other Asian(Nepal). The Asian population at wake forest and Clemson is 2% and 1.5%

And first generation immigrant/ school

@GodsGem322‌ Choir and Tae, good mix. Sounds like you were really involved and successful with both. I bet admission officers see that as a big plus!

If anyone needs a distraction, this is one of my current stories - (you’ll have to type www).wattpad.com/38752767-unconditional-surrender-chapter-one-the-high-is

High SATs and ACT scores can help out too. Fingers crossed!! Good luck 20 minutes

@couga7 - I’ve given my life to TKD. I teach it when my dad can’t take his class because his flight comes in late, and he teaches his class because our teacher is currently deployed. It’s a lot of work but it’s fun. Choir - well, you know I’m dedicated when the one time I get 1’s and 2’s on my vocal evals I cry. I cried really, really hard. (Scale is 1-5, 5 being best. I usually get 4’s and 5’s.).
