***JUNE 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

@mat324 I scored a 33 on this test, my first try. It’s definitely high enough to get you in the door at any college in the country. More and more colleges are looking at standardized test scores only to confirm that you can handle the work load; however, I also am going to try again for a 34.

@Sizzleracn lol how the hell can a 36 mean a 32? There both two completely different numerical values with different purposes. In simpler English, how many of you guys got a 36 C on the ACT?

@ayyyyyyy I"m pretty sure @Sizzleracn was joking lol

So what are the scales?

Anyone think I have a chance of raising to a 34?
In February I scored a 30C 29E/35M/24R/31S.
Just got back June and super happy with my 33C! 35E/34M/28R/33S.
I improved so much that I’m not sure how much more I can stretch myself. Help anyone?
(my main issue with reading is that I can’t seem to be able to finish on time. What I get up to- I usually get right. Also English is not my first language)

@liv2445 What grade are you in? I believe it is definitely worth a shot. Is your problem that you take a long time to read and comprehend or is it something else?

Now we wait for subject tests…

@allboyz This friday the next batch will be released?

@Deferno54 Yes, this Friday.

I’m really hoping I get my scores then. Waiting is not so easy for me :-<

@Deferno54 wed/fri s

@sanieldalib A 35 and a 36 are a negligible difference in the eyes of admissions officers. Spend your time on another part of your application. Congrats on the great score!

@cltncrn mostly the timing. In the June test I circled C for the last 9 questions because I couldn’t get up to it. I just finished my Junior year so I guess I still have September and October tests. I’ll try my best to speed up reading over the summer. Tysm. Anyone have any practice ACT reading books or other suggestions on how to improve reading?

Hi guys! Do you think it is best to send ACT or SAT? I did much better on my ACT, but am wondering if colleges look down on it. Thanks :slight_smile:

27 composite. Math a s s whipped the living daylights out of me. Spent too much time on a couple questions I knew I could get. Killed my timing. Im not OCD but it sure felt like it. I just can’t seem to let it go when I know I’ll eventually get the answer.

@pancakebook44 colleges no longer prefer the SAT over the ACT. Submit your ACT score for sure if it is that much better than your SAT score.

@Deferno54 @Zdunc108 same I can’t wait!!! I really hope I will get them on Friday! For those of you who haven’t gotten your scores yet, ive heard they’re gonna be released on Friday morning. How do you feel about that? Do y’all prefer night releases or morning releases?

@collgefreak Night releases, because I have no problems staying up ridiculously late but waking up at 8 am is a real challenge at this point in the summer :wink:

I mean I like night releases because I can stay up easily and do anyway during the summer. But morning releases are easy because you just wake up and they are there. But that’s only if I can sleep

Wow, @momofthree55 my DC had the same numbers as yours in the same sections and came out with a 34 in that section, not a 35. How is that possible? Does anyone know?
