***JUNE 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

This is the first experience with ACT. I am not sure I understand when I am supposed to receive the scores. On the website it says June 23 to August something or other. That is one LONG window. Here in CC is sounds like many of you have already received your scores. I have not. Status still says registered. (It is only Wednesday though). What percent of test takers get their scores back so early like already have them or will have them on Friday? The ones that do not and filled out the forms correctly, etc - what the *&%($ are they waiting for? Seems like the quality assurance thing might move WAY faster. Anyway, have any of you ever waited a month and half to get your scores back. If so, what was the hold up?

@elise303 this is my first experience as well and i can tell you that its annoying af. frankly, its not only quite annoying, but also very stressful that a large portion of test takers have received their scores and then some of us are still waiting. from what i know, the majority of people received their scores on tuesday, and another large portion should receive theirs on friday. i can’t say with absolute certainty that you or i will receive our scores on friday, but there is definitely a good possibility. and yes, it is EXTREMELY annoying because they give all these reasons on their website as to why your score could be delayed and I KNOW i didn’t do any of those things. we’ll just have to sit tight because, unfortunately, we have zero control in this situation. but im with ya girl i am SO annoyed.

My son took the ACT in the Fall and got his scores in the first batch. He retook it in June and his status still says “Registered.” Seems totally random as to who gets scores when.

@55al00m I don’t think you should retake the test, unless you have a really low score on one of the sections (e.g. all 35’s except for a 28 on Science). With a 33C you fall into mid-50% range at practically any school (ivies included), so admissions-wise I think there isn’t much difference between a 33C and a 34C/35C.

How much does a 36 increase your chance at Yale or Columbia opposed to a 33? Without noting ECs/grades/etc

Just checked…still “registered”…

Still registered as well. Ugh

If I am still registered, does that mean I’m NOT getting my scores this Friday?

2nd time I took it, got a 32 and Im pretty pleased so ill keep it

@ellinmelon no, it could still change tomorrow

Ok thanks
It’d better change cause I’m already sick of waiting :stuck_out_tongue:

Same exact thing with my son . . . April scores came in first batch of results, still waiting for June. He did take it at a different location but in the same town.

@ShawnLooch I don’t think that having a 36 instead of a 33 would tremendously increase your chances. I knew people with 36’s not getting into Yale and Harvard, and I knew people getting in with 32’s. Honestly, to my mind, as long as your scores fall within the mid 50% (and 33C sure does), it doesn’t matter if it’s a 33 or a 35 because that’s where the other parts of your application come into play.

36C
E:36
M:35
R:36
S:36

Does anyone know what the science curve was like? I feel like I definitely got some wrong, but I still got a 36 on that section?

what time are the results released Friday? Is it midnight cst? Or in the am?

this is honestly so annoying I just want my scores alreadyyyyyyyy

Yes!! 34!

34C (up from 32)
32E (up from 28)
34M(up from 31)
36R!!(up from 32)
34S (Down from 36)

I knew I missed a few on science and I didn’t finish the last question so not surprised I didn’t get a 36 on that again, but pretty much happy all around. Especially since my superscore is a 35. I did get an 8 on essay last time so I’m hoping for at least a small improvement there. I don’t think I’ll take it again though.

Question, I got a 2080 on SAT my first time.
690M
690CR
700W(10 essay)
Should I be worried about retaking the SAT since my ACT score is good enough. I’m talking about Top tier /ivies. Is it a big deal that my SAT is a good bit lower than my ACT or should I work to increase it to be on par with my ACT.

I’m still registered. Has anyone who hasn’t gotten their scores yet been changed to tested yet?

Still registered as well…

I got mine in the first batch and it went straight from registered to having my scores.
