act tries to get scores out as early as possible, so instead of waiting for 1.5 million to be ready and releasing them all together in about a month , they release a batch as soon as they are scored
It’s so funny how we freak out about getting our scores back 12 days after the test but I waited 6 weeks for my May SAT scores
very true haha. the reason we are all freaking out is because school is out for most of us , and we have nothing to distract us from our act score fears.
@maryamact if you say that act release scores as soon as tests are graded, how do they do the curve then if not all tests are graded?
@tiensters the curve isn’t based on the scores of the test takers of a certain date. The curve is made before students even take the test.

Hey for those wondering about the supposedly harsh reading curve, I would like to remind you that the ACT sectional subscores are not supposed to add up to the section scaled score. Even though you received 17 and 18 as the reading subscores, it’s definitely possible to get a 34 on reading. There is no direct relationship between sectional subscores and questions missed.
My son’s score is up! Unfortunately, he got the same exact score as in April. But just wanted to let you know to check!

If I want to be a STEM major, should I worry about the low math sub score when applying to top STEM schools like MIT?
Yes. MIT cares mainly about your english and math score. A 32 is very low for MIT standards. They also don’t care that much about your reading and science scores.

@newrecruit If they are done with the batch for today, the next batch will be release Wed morning. They will release scores twice a week - every Friday and Wed mornings.
