June CR (giant squid, etc.)

Yeah seraph.

I chose the encyclopedia purpose one as how history changes and stuff, c
can someone explain to me why that choice is incorrect?
(I didn’t really understand the passage overall)

SP ①close-knit ②prosaic ③details and ramification ④pleased

SPP ①subset/examine the final product? ②skilled biographers would not exactly make a re-creation ③not so believable(1 left)

LP motorcycle: ①disdainful ②content with where they are(more concerned about now?) ③too busy to talk with strangers ④immediacy of the experience ⑤people don’t notice things that are very obvious ⑥misconception ⑦detached from the world ⑧congeniality(1 left)

LP encyclopedia: ①overestimate their knowledge②pastime that led him to make some certain observations③narrowed and biased? (Is this the same question as the one about “history and literature”~ answer is something like “dated but valuable”)④meticulous ⑤variety of topics/that interest the author? ⑥circulatory system

LP mother: ①freedom from disturbing truths② contacting people of her mother’s past ③find mother’s essence ④difficult undertaking ⑤why unforthcoming ⑥give her mother pain when she tried to remember ⑦mother’s attitude stifled impulsion ⑧to prove the previous statement ⑨everyday①⓪daughter is indifferent to the past because of mother①①manner of mom’s speech made it seem matter-of-fact (2left)

LPP: ①accomplishment ②self-conscious inconsistency③ legends ④creature of near mythical ⑤scientists have not found one yet ⑥a gain and a loss ⑦elaborating on his previous statement ⑧prefaced with description ⑨unbelievable ①⓪ show physical strength ①①puts the incident into a larger context(1 left)

Plz help me figure out what is left and what is uncertain…

For the third one on the encyclopedia, yeah, it was that question but I got something like reliable but dated because in the line before it said something about it being valid.

The one about “show physical strength”… wasn’t the right answer show how the squid is viewed?

I chose the same answer as yours, but many SAT takers back in 2008 chose “extremely narrow” or something like that. I am pretty sure that “dated” is correct, the author mentioned “old-fashioned” or something like that…

I remember that both details from the two articles mention something specifically about its power/size/something like this, but I can’t remember exactly whether it is physical strength or not…

Not physical strength, but to show how the squid is perceived or something

bumping this

So is narrow and biased definitely correct then?
