Junior needs help in SAT CR and SAT writing.

The blue book is only good for PRACTICE TESTS. So don’t read/do the exercises in the beginning of the book. There are guides posted in this forum on how to do well on the CR and WR section.

My personal advice is to get a PR book or any grammar book to learn grammar. Then take lots of practice tests. I studied WR by doing Barron’s verbal exercise book. After that I do blue book’s practice tests. Through excessive practice, you’ll be able to see the “pattern” of the way these tests are like, and be able to know what’s expected. Additionally, review your mistakes/wrong answers. Being able to correct one or two mistakes that you always make can boost your score significantly. As for CR, I try not to skim so I can know the passages well. Knowing them well can prevent me from going back to the passages a lot. However, the time I use to get to know the passages well is made up by the lack of time I spend on the vocab section.
