Just how competitive has OSU gotten?

It wasn’t even the general policy of the past. It was the mandate of one particular governor who held office throughout the sixties and seventies and held very populist, anti-intellectual views towards higher education.

Today, I’d say that Ohio State has caught up with Illinois for admissions selectivity and, if growth rates continue, will probably be in the range of Wisconsin within the next several years.

This year 52% of applicants were accepted. 53% came from the top 10% of their high school class, and the middle 50% ACT range was 26-30. There’s still a distinct gap between Ohio State and Michigan, but it’s nowhere near as large or as fundamental a gap as the above immature poster would like to believe.
