Thank you all. Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated. S is doing pretty well, all things considered. Like most guys, he’s not a big “show your emotions” kind of guy.

I know he’s had a few conversations (and tears) with the youth minister at our church. He and his friends have stuck together like glue this week. Being with them has helped S more than anything. I’m sure they have had a lot of discussions when there are no adult ears listening. They are leaning on each other.

One of these guys (who was/is also very close to the two boys and a pall bearer along with S at the funeral) will be S’s college roommate. I’m thankful that they will be together to support each other and ease the transition to college after this awful event in their young lives

The boy who is in the hospital is named Daniel. Please pray for his recovery.
Thanks to you all.

Packmom, I cannot imagine. Many prayers for Daniel, and, for your son and his friends.

Lafalum - You could have taken the words right out of my head! I was so happy to read that someone else has these thoughts. I also add onto the end, “And you know she wouldn’t have been as happy, as challenged, or so surrounded by like-minded peers if she had attended any of the colleges offering four year free rides”.

Older D graduated from our state U in May and is getting married in two weeks! YIKES! Bills are flying in from everywhere!

Packmom, normally people discourage friends from rooming together as freshmen, but in this instance I think it is probably a really good thing. They will be able to understand and support each other.

Midwest Parent - more happy reasons to spend money! A wedding! Congratulations!

lol same here, and I’m not going to a public school.
