Justin Bieber flaming out

I can’t imagine having that much money and adoration at his age. I would not want anyone to see my mistakes between the ages of 15 and 25…yikes. Throw in testosterone and it makes it that much more difficult.

He is being a jerk…but I give him a pass.

That’s the last thing he needs right now. Someone around him needs to give him some tough love. All too often these celebrities surround themselves with “yes” men and women. They get a very warped view of themselves as being perfect or above the laws or rules of behavior everyone else has to live with. When normal people act like a jerk, we have our spouses or parents or good friends around us to let us know it’s not okay, and we usually will then change our behavior because we don’t like it when people we love are mad at us or hurt. The people around us keep us honest. Hanging around people who never challenge you is bad for the character.

I don’t give anyone driving under the influence a pass. Especially not this spoiled brat.

Someone should sit him down in front of an Elvis and Michael Jackson documentary marathon, in the hopes of him learning the lesson of surrounding oneself with enablers.

And his mentor, usher, where is he now. He’s made loads of money off this kid. His neighbors in California are hoping Miami keeps him.

Sorry I didn’t explain myself well. I meant a pass for being a jerk.

He needs to face the legal system full force like anybody else.

So if he is convicted of the felony vandalism charge already going trough the courts we could get the little brat out of here?

Saturday night live did a perfect portrayal of him by one of their female comediennes. She will be there again this week I believe. She was a perfect copy, mannerisms and vague responses. Sad to see him ruining himself, but that tends to happen when the ego grows so large. Really hope there is an intervention by his family. I’m sure this won’t be his last stupid stunt.

He may be a brat, but he is not spoiled by anyone else. He has earned millions on his own despite his crappy music and bad hair style.

“On his own” ha. No one “earns millions” “on their own” when they’re 15.

It’s whatever. I don’t begrudge him his money. He’s never gotten a cent from me and if he can convince millions of teenage girls’ parents to waste big money, more power to him.

That doesn’t change the fact that he’s a spoiled brat. I don’t care where his money comes from.

The Daily Mail says the police found large amounts of drugs and alcohol including cocaine lying around Bieber’s house in CA but they couldn’t arrest him because the search warrant was very limited around the vandalism incident. They arrested one guy because he was in possession.

The only thing that interests me even a little about Bieber is the way he’s constructed. He doesn’t write music or produce his material. He isn’t a choreographer. He was packaged by rap/hip-hop producers who thought a whitebread white kid could pull off the look in a non-threatening way that would appeal to young white teens. It worked. I wish I could find one of the articles about the way they produce his music. I remember one song had something like six separate producers … and by producers I mean individuals who put together pieces of the songs, including singing, background noises, etc. Bieber would then copy the vocal part.

That kind of thing is apparently not unusual in pop music. Some music producers I’ve been friendly with have told me of pop stars - and some wealthy or crossover celebrity wannabe’s - who sing every tune to guide tracks. That means they record someone singing the song and the “singer” then learns that rendition and sings along to the other track while recording. I was told by one guy who engineered one of these projects that it was killed by the record company because the “act” couldn’t keep pitch well enough even with guide tracks and pitch adjustment. This was before auto-tune and the like made it more acceptable to sing badly.

Remember Menudo? A joke of a band put together to appeal to Latin teens - and with pretty boy crossover potential. As the kids got older, they’d be replaced by the producer. But that band included Ricky Martin, who became a legitimate star - and now proud gay father of twins. So these things do connect sometimes to genuinely big talent. NKOTB was formed near me and, seriously, not much musical talent going on there but Donnie’s success paved the way for Mark and who would have thought Marky Mark would be such an intelligent guy (and devout family man).

Didn’t Bieber get started with self-produced YouTube videos? I think he deserves more credit for self-creation than a lot of other performers.

Agree w/Hunt. He was discovered on YouTube.

Yes, he had videos on youTube, just like thousands of other kids. Scooter Braun saw the videos and introduced him to Usher.

Perhaps his father? Except that he was too busy helping block off the street so that Justin and his buddy could race expensive rented cars.

During the period when Menudo was most successful, in addition to Ricky Martin it also had Robi Draco Rosa, who is a really impressive talent (and the producer of most of Martin’s hits).

The Lamborghini and Ferrari must have been duds…Justin and his buddy were drag racing and topped out at only 55-60 mph? I run faster to the dinner table on foot.

I actually think Bieber is being attacked unfairly on this one.

He’s 19. He can’t legally drink. According to TMZ–not the best of sources, but on this kind of stuff it’s usually right from what I can figure out–his alcohol level was .04, which would not yield a DUI if he were 21. Florida has a very low level for those below 21–a .02. Hey, I don’t think he should be drinking and driving, but this isn’t a standard issue DUI.

Moreover, though it took chutzpah, they did cordone off the street for their race. So, it’s not as if he put a lot of people at risk. The speeds were high for a residential area, but not all that high.

I’m no Bieber fan, but I think this is being overblown if TMZ is right about his BAC.

The funniest thing is someone already made an IF account called justinbiebersmugshot. :D

Bieber? That’s a stretch…

According to the report I heard on the radio, JB also admitted to having drugs in his system. Was that in the police report? This is not even remotely okay, to be driving while impaired from a mixture of drugs and alcohol. He is wealthy enough that he could rent a place to drag race under circumstances which don’t put other’s lives or property at risk.

Who do you refer to when you say it’s being “overblown”? Because legally he was DUI and the laws should apply to him just as they would to any other teen caught driving under the influence.
