Since there are already so many threads on this topic I figured I would simply reply to this one rather than start another one. So, I am an incoming freshman looking to gain SA into Kelley and would appreciate any comments/tips on my fall schedule and maybe some advice for what to schedule in the Spring. In high school, through dual-credit (I never took an AP exam) I got credit for PSY- P 101, HISP S 200 and 250 (also tested into 280 on the placement exam and will be pursing a Spanish minor), MATH- M 211, and W- 131.
At Orientation, my adviser and I came up with this schedule for the fall:
BUS- K 160: I am taking this because I am not great with computers, and she said it is essentially a prep course for K 201 which I will be taking in the Spring. Also, my professor for this course is Sera who seems to be one of the best for this course and K 201.
ECON E 201- S&H Gen Ed and required for KSB, not sure if required for admission.
HISP- S 280- Required for minor, tested into and have dual credit for 200 and 280.
MATH M 118- My adviser said my M 211 credit exempts me from taking M 119 which is certainly nice and I figured it might be best to avoid taking this in the same semester as K 201.
PSY- P 102- My credit for P 101 + this help cover S&H credits for Gen Ed.
Notes: 15 Credit Hours, I tried to sign up for Business Presentations (I believe BUS- C 104??), but it was already full, so I will try to take that in the Spring for the composition course since I already have credit for W- 131. My adviser said I could have signed up for BUS- A 100 in the tail end of fall semester if I thought I had time, and be able to drop it before it began to avoid receiving a “W” but I decided it might be best to take it in the first 8 weeks of 2nd semester so I am not worrying about this class as finals start to roll around.
Any thoughts, advice, constructive criticism are greatly appreciated! Best of luck to all of the SA kids out there lol and obviously thoughts from former SA freshman are extremely welcomed.
