Sorry, Northstarmom. Stealing teachers’ passwords does not make the student a “genius” of any sort. Once you know your way around computers, it is not difficult to do, depending on the security of the system.

By the way, this kind of thing is unfortunately not uncommon. Computer savvy kids can cheat pretty easily.

I think at a minimum the OP should report the password stealing, even via an anonymous note, WITHOUT naming the kid, if there is no direct proof

or he can say, this is the story going around, I have no proof, so I know there is nothing you can do to the cheater, but maybe in the future the school can take more care, ie, changing passwords, etc

stop being a snitch the kid cheated, who cares it happens everywhere all the time… stop being jealous just becasue hes smarter then u and did better on the SATs and jacked the spots u applied for… realy this thread is a joke, should be deleted

smatz1, wow, you just love dishonest liars, don’t you?

guess some others have a sense of morals and values while others don’t

imagine if someone cheated your mother, maybe then you might have a sense of outrage, instead you are mad at the person who did nothing wrong while taking a bit of pride in a liar and a thief

and being outrage and angry that someone got something by cheating, stealing and such does not make a person jealous

I don’t like that this person cheated, and I am not jealous at all, so don’t just say, well, you muct be jealous to be angry and report a dishonest act or person…

right but there are just certain rules to being in high school. One of them is you let cheaters get caught but you don’t rat them out unless they’re cheating on a test graded on a curb. It’s just an unwritten law.

If they wanna risk expulsion then that’s on them. If you’re mad you just don’t be friends with them and don’t help them when they need it.

If you completely abandoned that you’ll have some losers telling the principle about every kid they hear drinks at a party or smokes, its basically the same thing.

I have seen cheating on a massive scale in my high school. It is often impossible to report, but once I did let a teacher know HOW people were cheating (without mentioning names) and the answers were better protected from then on.

I absolutely dispise cheaters, and I cannot think of any punishment harsh enough for those that gain an unfair advantage. I have worked incredibly hard in high school, and so have many others like me, and we deserve better than to have our success outshadowed by liars and dishonest people.

People like me are not interested in getting into a good school for the prestige, for the money, or for the name. We are just seeking a place where our intellectual gifts can grow in an environment of students with similar work ethic and ability. Why would you possibly cheat other people out of that?
