Kindle good for 12 year old reluctant reader?

haha. That was bought up on an NPR show a couple of years ago, women could read their bodice rippers (aka romance novels) and no one would know.

BTW, here is a good blog to subscribe to for free and inexpensive books
[Free Kindle Books – 4 More Free Books For 12-10-11](http://ereadernewstoday.com/free-kindle-books-4-more-free-books-for-12-10-11-2/679564/)
there are lots of others also, this one just came to my inbox so it is fresh in my mind.

This first. I can’t see why a kindle would help - I think finding the right reading material would. Has she tried Tamora Pierce? The Hunger Games? The Blue Sword? (Those are all fantasy books with strong heroines and the sorts of books I loved at her age, (that my boys also liked), but what you want is something that makes her want to read. Even graphic novels are okay.

I also agree with those who say that cringeworthy junk reading is okay. My younger son has made it his project to read all the Star Wars books - but they get written faster than he can keep up with them. Nevertheless, I have to say that they along with the interminable David Weber military sci-fi series are probably what got him an almost perfect score on the SAT reading section. He didn’t read anything that could be called good for you after school hours!
