<p>I think you will find that the BANNER decision is much more polarizing in that people either agree with it or don’t. In this case we’ve got two issues at hand–the selling of a cultural equity (the value of which is completely dependent on personal bias) and the process followed to perform that sale (which is less personal and more objective an issue).</p>

I could argue about the rest of your post but I’ll respect this. It is important for prospective students to realize, however, that Rice may not be the same as it was when their parents studied here. It has changed–a lot for the better but a lot for the worse as well. I’m sure most Rice-bound students are intelligent enough to form their own opinions.</p>
