kudos to stores or companies with fantastic service

Another for Amazon. Every time I’ve had even the most minor issue with them, they’ve been absolutely fabulous about correcting it ASAP.

Noodles & Co (restaurants are companies, ya?)- the one nearest to me has the nicest manager in the world. She knows everyone by name and face if you’ve been there more than once. She’s genuinely friendly and treats regulars like her best friends. I’ve been to a lot of Noodles places around the country and I’ve just never had a bad experience. And I’ve been to more than I’ll ever admit.

Amazon - consistently great

Zappos - also great

Thinkgeek - had a wonderful experience this past holiday season

REI. They are so helpful in the store and all of my online orders have come within 3 days. The range of items is broad and prices are competitive. Plus, as a member (this is a co-op of sorts) you get a rebate at the end of each year based on total purchases.

Another Trader Joe’s and Amazon fan here.

The employees at TJ really do seem to love working there. Also, they have several longtime disabled young people working at our local shop. The management seems to value their contribution to the operation. Our DD has friends that work there; she plans to find a competitive job in the future and we’d be happy if it happened to be Trader Joes.

I have had very good service from Amazon. So has D1 who lives in Manhattan. She purchased some kind of offer from Amazon that gives free 2 day shipping on all purchases for the year. As a result she buys a lot on Amazon. From pet paraphernalia, furniture, hiking boots to you name it, all delivered to her apartment with a doorman waiting to take delivery or returns if need be.

I have also had good service from QVC. Any purchase from October on, I believe, is returnable to Jan. 31., no questions asked.

And I made my first purchase from Nordstrom on line this Christmas. There is no Nordstrom store close to where I live. But I loved the free delivery to and return as well. That is great service.

Nordstrom Rack returned merchandise I bought from a regular Nordstrom and catalog orders. Love them.

I also had great service from sephora. They went above and beyond with a little problem I had with a Christmas present.

Tiffany & Co–My boyfriend purchased a ring for me, nothing extravagant (<$200) just around 2 years ago. It was white gold with the word ‘love’ engraved in it, and filled with red enamel. After a year, the enamel began to wear off, so we took it back to Tiffany’s to see if it could be repaired. They offered to replace it on the spot with the same ring, so we took that. After another year, the enamel began to wear off again, so we again took it back to see if it could be repaired. I had since moved across the country, and the same ring was not in stock in my size at my new local store. The manager decided to give us a store credit equal to the original price of the ring, no questions asked! I picked out a new ring, paid a little bit over the store credit, and walked out the door with a gorgeous new ring!

Lilly Pulitzer–During their twice yearly insane sale, their website crashed for days on end due to demand. I only ordered a necklace, but when it finally arrived, they had included a free shift dress keychain with a note apologizing for the troubles AND a coupon code for 10% off anything online and free shipping! Lilly never offers % off, so I really thought they went above and beyond!

When we were in NYC visiting D1 we went to a sephora near her apartment. We each bought what we wanted. It turns out D1 bought the incorrect product of the product line she wanted by mistake. It was an expensive product. I asked her if she had the receipt and she said no. I told her to try an exchange anyway. She did, and they did.

Very happy.

I second Trader Joes and Zappos.

I also like customer service at Athleta. I used to be a lululemon addict, but with their customer service was always bad. Lululemon used to win me over with their quality, but in the last year the quality became so bad that I started to look for alternatives. Athleta won me over with their free returns, discounts if the items you ordered went out of stock before being shipped and price adjustment policy. Lululemon has a lot to learn from Athleta.

Here’s another one of my favorites - LL Bean. Their customer service, on the phone and at their retail stores, is fantastic. No wonder they’ve been around for 100 years.

Nordstrom x 10. My husband returned a pair of used shoes after a year. A guy that often helps my husband GAVE h a shirt they were discontinuing because he knew h liked them.

Amazon and Zappos. Everyone must know this by now, but Amazon prime is a mutually beneficial relationship.

I made a complaint about something bought from an affiliate on Amazon, and when I checked my email for a conformation, there a message saying the problem was resolved, and I had been credited with a refund. And it was about 1 AM in California.

I vote for Wegman’s. Here at the Jersey Shore, our local Wegman’s was an oasis for those of us who lost power for weeks after Hurricane Sandy. It was a place to get warm, charge your cell phone and have a hot meal. I know plenty of people who brought their laptops and worked from their cafe. Free phone charging was such a helpful way to show that the store is a true part of the community. They earned my loyalty!

QT (Quick Trip) convenience/gas stores rock! Their employees are always power washing the parking lot, cleaning every crevice of the store, and memorizing frequent customer’s names. Also, if there are more than 3 people in line and one cashier, another is called to help so you’re in and out super fast. I love the vast array of coffees and cappuccinos. I’m not sure where all they’re located, but I know they’re in TX.
