<p>Oh, Williams would be amazing, momrath, but I’ll admit to getting really intimidated when I see the stats of the kids applying there. My son has no real “hooks” and these NE LACs are all so popular, I’ve really been encouraging him to look at schools in other parts of the country so he seems a little more “exotic”–on paper at least. ;-)</p>
<p>I so appreciate everyone’s suggestions in this thread about schools to look at. We have friends (SERIOUS theater professionals) who have a child at Carleton (math/science geek) and we have both Carleton and Macalester on our list, along with Grinnell and Reed. I’d like my son to seriously look at all the good LACs in the northeast, as well, but I have no idea if he’s a good match for any of them.</p>
