Ladies, (sorry Men) Favorite...

Ivoire by Balmain. I used to love Jardanel (Patou), but haven’t seen it in decades. I’ve also worn Arpege and Ma Griffe, and something by Hermes…Casaque, maybe? It all depends on how it smells on you. I tend not to like the modern “chemical” perfumes.

have you thought that perfumes can make allergic people sick. Could also trigger asthma attacks.

I hold my breath when walking through the perfume jungle in dept. store.

I’m very aware of it, and hate it when confined next to a woman (or guy… usually a high schooler wearing Axe) who is doused in perfume. I only wear perfume a couple evenings a month and then VERY lightly. It defeats the purpose of perfume, which is to be intriguing or interesting, when it is overdone…

Simba, you make an excellent point! I have no allergies, but I almost suffocated at D’s graduation while sitting behing a lady who, I swear, poured an entire bottle of some perfume on herself! I also hate the spray-on perfumes, because half of it ends up in the lungs where it is not supposed to be! A salesperson at the local department store recommended the newest “technique” of perfume application: spray it in the air and walk through the cloud of droplets - WTH are they thinking?!!

^^I do that at home but hold my breath and walk to the other side of the room. It gets just the right about of perfume on the neck. I would not recommend it for department stores. They have little paper sticks that you can spray and bring up to your nose to test the scent.

Oceanus from the Body Shop.

Daisy by Marc Jacobs!

Re: perfume bothering others…I’ve been asking around for the little, thin solid tubes of perfume or roll-ons (about the size of a mascara bottle). I think the scent from those applications is less overwhelming. I haven’t been able to find many brands that carry that format, though.

White Linen by Estee Lauder

^^^^ White Linen is what my aunt wears, I love it - so classic.

I wish I could wear perfume, but it triggers migraines. It’s ok if other people have it on, but if I’m wearing it long enough it starts the headache.

My D wears Hollister’s Malaya. I think it really suits her. She was talking about changing scents, and I actually talked her out of it, I’ve come to think of that as “her” smell.

I love Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria in Mandarine-Basilic[/url">http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P182204&categoryId=B70"]Mandarine-Basilic. It’s fresh, unusual, and not too sweet or overpowering. I’m told all the time that I “smell so good!”

What’s my summer scent? Anything that doesn’t attract flies and other insects. I use a mint and rosemary shampoo in the summer because my winter shampoo–a nice floral scents–attracts flies. I walk outside a lot and it really bugs me.

I find lavender, which I really like, attracts bees.

I don’t wear perfume.

Burberry Brit is PHENOMENAL. FYI, you can find many designer fragrances at places like Sam’s, TJ Maxx, and Target for a fraction of department store prices.
