Lafayette Class of 2028 Official Thread

Yes, SO nice! Only Colgate had such a personal touch. Makes me like them way more - not sure it had a huge impact on my son…

I have to wait for D23 to get home so she can check.

Do you mean merit or financial aid? Because my son got NO merit and I’m a bit miffed. Hard no for us.

was there an email notification? my son is out so will need to wait.

well financial aid, they dont include merit in the acceptance letter its in the financial aid letter. Lafayette covers 100% of need so i doubt that your son didnt get anything if he needs it

S24 accepted! Very excited. No merit awards. We’ll have to weigh all the options.

Son accepted! Where does he look to find the merit and financial aid?

Merit aid was included. Albeit no where near enough for us to consider. Child got $20 K…extremely high stats, leadership, and extracurriculars that have an impact.

Have to say a little disappointed in the merit aid - he’s definitely gotten much more from some fairly similar schools. I wonder if Lafayette ever takes that into consideration and increases their offer?

D24 was also accepted with no merit aid, yet got $35k from Dickinson.

Is Dickinson full need? No loan? The schools just focus on different strategies. Lafayette’s president said this February that they were looking to substantially increase Pell-eligible students. Sounds like they are just leaning more towards need? Maybe?

D24 was accepted as a Marquis Fellow (full tuition scholarship)! So excited for her and it was certainly not expected. She is focused on engineering and this changes the math significantly relative to the other larger public universities she is considering.

wow, congratulations! she must have great GPAs. My S24 was accepted, but sadly, there was no mention of a scholarship in the offer letter…
