Lame-O Limericks for College Confidential

<p>It junior year - he’s abroad
For us parents it’s kinda hard
But Skype keeps him near
And allayed most of our fear
His Arabic? Let’s say we were awed!</p>

<p>CC is quite the addiction
Are those stats real or fiction?
Yale or State U’s
We’re hungry for news
Though we all have our own predictions</p>

<p>There once was a kid on CC
Who sought a prestigious degree,
He wanted an Ivy
But found it too pricey
And went to a small LAC.</p>

<p>His parents were absolutely delighted
That their son had finally decided
To go to Ohio
And major in Bio,
On a scholarship his new school provided.</p>

<p>Anyone want to continue this story - in limerick, of course?</p>

<p>Of the Class of 2014 and BEYOND
I have grown increasingly fond.
Through thin and through thick
HURRAY for a G# kick
And a laugh because he will never abscond
(we hope)</p>

<p>Apologies to YDS and don’t kick me out for plagiarism please!</p>

<p>I’ll add onto 12rmh’s limerick -</p>

<p>In Ohio he did really well.
He learned all about little cells.
To his mother he said,
I’m picking premed,
Being a doctor will be really swell.</p>

<p>eso, I’m proud to be your muse.</p>

<p>12rmh continues…</p>

<p>Of my pre-med son I am proud,
I brag, and chat, and am loud.
My friends may grow weary,
As I go on so cheery,
But my friends on CC will be wowed.</p>

<p>Tiredofsnow - </p>

<p>Might have to write that on a Post-It and put it somewhere I’ll see it often.</p>

<p>Be my guest, Julie! I’m flattered. :)</p>

<p>A job-seeking biology grad
Read only bottle-washer jobs in the lab
Her choice of major did rue
So did grad school pursue
Now she’s postponing real life for a tad :(</p>

<p>Please be kind. I have not written a limerick in a long time. Dedicated to my pup!</p>

<p>A mischievous collie named Maggie
Attended college in Texas with Aggies
She ran through the main quad
And distracted the cheer squad
And their pyramid drooped and got saggy.</p>

<p>To a group of friends and students with no peer
To the class of '14, i speak here
through glad times and sad
with many a laugh to be had
They all will succeed, have no fear</p>

<p>And continuing the story….</p>

<p>There once were two boys using a tool
to figure out where to go to school
When they realized how much they’d have to pay
and their grumpy dad said, “no way!”
They finally appreciated how scholarships rule.</p>

<p>For my son who is taking calc II…again. </p>

<p>There once was a boy in college
Who had a great time without knowledge
And was having trouble in one class
His mom knew it wouldn’t last
Because if he didn’t pass it
He knew she would kick his asset</p>

<p>…can you feel the frustration?</p>

<p>:D</p>

<p>I’m tired of AP Calc AB;
Why did I choose to self-study?
If I score a one
I’ll just be grateful I’m done
Senior year: four months and I’m free!</p>

<p>Where the 14 and beyond parents meet
Coffee is always ready by six
This is especially true thanks to p56</p>

<p>My continuation of the crowd-sourced limerick. MD Mom, I snuck in a stanza to precede yours.</p>

<p>But the pre-med distracted by chicks
Was put on academic probation to fix
His low GPA.
More work & less play
Did transform his time management mix. (GMTplus7)</p>

<p>At the end of the semester I’ll bet it
thanks to Facebook and Tumblr and Reddit,
the procrastinator cries
with tears in his eyes
in my office for some extra credit!</p>

<p>Continuing the saga of the pre-med:</p>

<p>**But Bio was truly his calling.
He decided that chicks were appalling.
He did persevere
To pursue a career:
He could hear that med school was calling.<a href=“12rmh18”>/b</a></p>

<p>**He pulled up his low GPA,
And studied for MCATs all day.
He worked for an answer
to a new cure for cancer,
And landed at UCLA.<a href=“12rmh18”>/b</a></p>

<p>Of my pre-med son I am proud,

<p>continuing premed:</p>

<p>your mother, you frustrate
with your need to procrastinate
the personal statements, and apps
the lor’s, ask prof x, perhaps,
acceptances, you only need one
omg, just get it done!</p>
