Yes, my son was stopped at the door of Foxwoods (CT) when he was with his grandparents and they decided to stop by there for dinner. They had to go outside all the way around to the other entrance for him to enter the restaurant. But you can’t do ANYTHING in Vegas without going thru the casino. At the Mirage, the California Pizza Kitchen is in the middle of the casino floor. The roller coaster entrance and kid-game room in NY NY are behind the casino. The entrance to the “Eiffel Tower” in Paris is in the middle of the casino floor.

What really freaked my kids out was that smoking is legal inside casinos and restaurants in Vegas. Their generation has never known a time when smoking indoors in a public place was legal. They would cough loudly when we walked by a smoker, and my daughter would mumble loudly about dying of cancer from second-hand smoke.

We were with a group of dancers and parents, walking down the boulevard to go to Mandalay (the shark aquarium is behind the casino, of course) and other sites at that end of the strip. There were stands selling bottled water and beer along the sidewalk. One of the dads with our group said, “Wow. Only in Vegas - you can drink outside and smoke inside!”
