<p>Interesting, gusaspara. One of my friends who is a well respected emergency room surgeon tried to discourage me from having Lasik because she has seen so many surgeries of all kinds that go horribly wrong. I think that most surgeons are so familiar with the bad things that can happen that they are very conservative when it comes to surgeries for themselves.</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure it’s a risk reward thing re: lasik rather than conservativeness - they’re very aware of the risks, major and minor, and don’t think the reward is great enough for them.</p>
