Our Linens N Things has a Memorial Day coupon for 20% off your entire purchase. It was in the Sunday ads.

Linens N Things filed for bankrupcy a few weeks ago. They should be having some incredible sales, I would think.

Anyone every buy the college dorm linens from here?
https://www.rhl.org/g/linens.aspx
Was thinking of having a value pack delivered straight to dorm. What do other CCers think?

Looks interesting (and reasonable)…just curious about quality of linens (stiffness??) but with guarantee, looks good…

According to their FAQ’s, though, they only ship home, NJ_mother…

Thanks Rodney. Washing with fabric softener can do wonders. Maybe better if they come home for a wash first, eh?

Yup, that’s actually what the website suggests…I just forwarded it to my D (the picky one)…

Your D and my D must know each other somehow.
Picky, for certain.

We just ordered one of the value packs. D was so excited she offered to pay for half of it. Do wonder what a bedside buddy is. Anyone know?

I think it’s something that you can put under your mattress with the pockets hanging out down the side to put stuff in.

NJ_mother: I’m impressed; not so picky afterall!! My D is too busy with prom to even check her e-mail…Yes, the bedside buddy is exactly as bmom described; it’s actually pictured on the website…

NJ: PM me when you get it; curious if it’s “too good to be true…”

Will do.
Guess they had the colors and patterns she’s picky about!
Oh she’s going to love the bedside buddy.

Hi
does anyone know how to filter the unwanted computer gibberish that is entangled in the links to shopping, bedding, checklist threads? Whenever I click on a link to any of these potentially useful threads, they are surrounded with stuff that mekes them difficult to read. There is useful text in there, but there is 5 times that amount in gibberish.
Thanks!

Bed Bath and Beyond should have their college stuff in stores by June 16.

I just got a mailing from the college providing a brochure and so on for campusbedding.com. Any experience with them?

I haven’t seen any information about campusbedding.com or received anything in the mail yet. What college did you receive the information from?

Dartmouth sent it.

We got it from UMN too. Seems pricey and boring. Please, anyone have thoughts on them? Maybe we should start a list of links to good current sources for this stuff and just keep cutting and pasting?

^^Yes, I would love this. I was beginning to think everyone’s dorm room will look pretty much the same. Are there other places to shop that have good options for extra-long twin beds? And are all college beds xtra long twins, btw?

We’re discussing the same thing on “Companions for the Vigil,” so here’s what I posted there a few minutes ago.

"I think that most college beds are XL twins these days, although there are a few exceptions. There are XL sheets/comforters/mattress covers at JCPenney, Macy’s, BedBath&Beyond, LinensNThings and lots more places. When checking out the online sites, when you get to bedding, do a search for XL or XL sheets.

I found beautiful sheets on deep discount at Macy’s for my D 3 years ago. I almost never shop at Macy’s – too expensive for me – but these sheets were a great deal.

Got the XLs for my S from JCPenney online a couple of weeks ago - solids, stripes and prints to choose from. They are on sale now and will be for a bit longer."

ALL college beds aren’t XL. I know that mine are normal twin sized.
