I use Kirkland free liquid or All free liquid. Works so much better than Tide free for me. I used to use Ultra free from Sears, a powder detergent which is hard to find now.
Also helps that I have potassium softened water and a great washer, a Kenmore Elite HE 3t going on 14 years now. Its twin was the Whirlpool Duet series. For a full load, I use about 2 tablespoons due to the softened watwr.
Kids used All free pods (Sams) starting in college and still using.
