Our S started doing laundry around 2nd grade. There was red dirt st their school and if it wasn’t meticulously pre-treated soon after the red dirt got on the clothing itvwiuld oermsnently stain. S had many white T-shirt’s with assorted surfing logos on them that he wanted to have stay white so he took charge of his clothes.
He’s always been much better about his laundry than D, who is 2 years younger and much more a “go with the flow” person (fortunately she doesn’t perspire much). D loves color catchers, so will put 2-3 of them in and mix all her clothes into a big load and generally it works. .
