<p>Good point on the direct flight. Any suggestions on which cities have a direct flight to LAX from Europe? The idea of driving in Europe doesn’t appeal to any of us.</p>
<p>Just an FYI (besides my aforementioned LAX-nonstop CDG(paris) information). Starting in June Alitalia, though their customer service is iffy, restarts their non stop LAX-FCO(Rome) flights four times a week.</p>

<p>HImom - I just went on Delta’s website and you can download their flight schedules.</p>
<p>Go to Planning, flight schedule and then download on the right side. It looks like your direct flights are Amsterdam, Paris and maybe Dublin. Just be careful if you choose Paris to make sure that your incoming and out going flights are at the same airport.</p>

<p>OK, looks like we can catch a non-stop LAX to Frankfurt & then another non-stop from London to LAX. That will probably be what we will do!</p>
<p>Because we hate jumping from place to place, we will probably go to London, Paris & then the area around the Black Forest in Germany for the 3 weeks we’re in Europe. We may get to Belgium & Amsterdam or not, depending.</p>
<p>Would have loved to get to Vienna and Rome, but our family doesn’t do well when we try to cram too much into too short a time. Will remind everyone that there will be future trips–with us or on their own.</p>
<p>Sounds great. Last year we landed in Stuttgart, drove through the Black Forest and stayed in Strasbourg (wonderful city) before heading to Paris. We used Hertz and got the navigation system. There was a 240 euro charge to return the car to another country. We enjoyed our drive through Reims, Amien and Rouen on the way to Paris. Another time we returned the car at the Beauvais airport and took the 13 euro/one hour bus ride into Paris (to avoid the stress of returning a car into Paris). <p>FYI - They were working on a high speed train from Strasbourg to Paris and it might be available now.</p>
