I called the program yesterday and the woman I spoke to was really honest and informative. I asked most of these questions, sorry if I missed yours.
- This year they are trying to cutdown on reading for applications. They are testing how concisely you can explain yourself (thus the short lines). Any add’l attachments or awards will be thrown out of your file.
2)This is a minority program. There are few asians accepted (although they account for the greatest percentage of applicants)-- about one for every location. HOWEVER they are asian minorities ex. from Singapore, Philippines, Not Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Pakistan (Bummer for me =[ ). She said there’s always a possibility and her best advice is that you don’t present yourself stereotypically. They don’t want the asian student who just aces tests b/c unfortunately this is expected (This refutes Whartonitis’ idea about a 2400 getting you in… I thought it would too). They are tired of seeing varsity asian tennis athletes, website owners, etc.
- The “early summer” dates vary and will be listed soon.
- I asked for any other advice if I wanted to do a business program and she said LBW at Wharton. It costs more but doesn’t lean towards any particular race.
- I asked if I could incorporate investments in the stock market as an EC/work-- it’s actually not an EC and shows that you are not economically disadvantaged so it’s best not to be added.

Sigh. Time for LBW
