The UC’s are transfer-friendly, but they also receive thousands of transfer apps every year. Did the Academic Counselor say that you would have to reapply to UCSD as a transfer, or that admissions would be automatic without an application (and should you not get into LA)? If the latter, get that in writing, (since I’ve never heard of it.)
You do understand that you would have to attend community college all of this year and next year, and transfer for your Junior (3rd) year?
If you do go that route, I suggest you see if you can get into the Honors program at your cc.
