Ahhh… the admission checklist items disappeared - see that now. Now just says, “The deadline to submit materials has passed.” Yes, before they release decisions they start making changes to the portal. Not necessarily an indication that something will happen this week, but we can hope!
BTW, Lehigh just announced they will be moving to online classes for two weeks in light of coronavirus.
@Choppercabras - If you are referring to the diversity weekend, you will receive an invitation with an RSVP date if you are invited. I didn’t really know about it until the invitation came so I’m not sure if they invite international students. Wish I had more info. Perhaps call the office to inquire.
This could get very interesting now folks… Governor Wolfe of PA just ordered all non life-sustaining businesses closed until further notice. This includes colleges and universities. Unless they are set up to work from home entirely remotely, I’d say they could have a problem releasing decisions anytime soon.
@Yocco2 - I don’t see it being much of an issue. I started working remotely from home this week and now I wonder why I ever had to go into the office at all. Anything that is on my desktop at work is on my surface pro at home including stored passwords. They can just hit the key from home and release the decisions.
Tons of colleges have been closed and working remotely (including admissions) and decisions are all being released on time - in the 10 or so answers we’ve received.
Yes, they sent all the students home, but profs could still work and teach from their offices. Previously admissions staff could have worked remotely and could still meet physically once a week for admissions committee meetings, etc. Working remotely from home is one thing. But they have been just been ordered to shut down their actual facilities, meaning they cannot meet in their offices, cannot print out and mail acceptance packages, etc. Will it make a difference? We’ll find out. However, something like this has never happened before in my lifetime, nor in anyone else’s, so be prepared.
If you have seen Lehigh’s portal, which I have experience using for over seven years now, you will notice it is not the most advanced technology. Hopefully things will still work out as planned. Good luck to all, and stay well.
