Lehigh Class of 2017!

I’m already extremely nervous. But we can all be nervous together.

i think its coming out tomorrow, but i just have no clue what time! i dont want to be casually checking at school and have it be right there!!

Mine is still the same! Ahh why is yours different! I’m so jealous…

I dont have that either… But i have this huge feeling I’ll be rejected what will all the strong applicants this year!! Cant they just freakin give an exact date that we can all look forward to already?
I just wanna know and get the suspense over with so I can finish up and pass my other college applications!!

feel you 100%

Hopefulintl, I don’t remember your stats so I highly doubt they’re bad enough to be rejected! Don’t worry too much! And yes, a decision date would be great…

Justseeing- what does it say word for word?

yeah I have a feeling I’m going to be rejected too, I didn’t have too many extracurriculars. But I guess life goes on, right?

what are your scores and such?

My scores/gpa were honestly not the best.
SAT: 2030 Math- 680 Reading- 630 Writing- 720
ACT: 30
Unweighted GPA: 3.55
Weighted GPA: 4.11 out of 5.3

I mean it’s a bit of stretch for me but I’m still hoping for the best, you know? I mean they’ve already made their decisions so there’s nothing else I can do.

it says “Application decisions will be posted in this channel.”

where are you guys from?

wait :frowning: why doesnt mine say that?
does anyone else’s say that?

Llev48
Lehigh is totally a match for you! I wouldnt say its a reach at all. My stats are pretty identical to yours
SAT -2040 680 cr/ 660 math/ 700 writing
Unweighted gpa: 3.63
Weighted: 4.07
I have some good extra cirriculars, one kinda unique one, and then Im in Calc 2/3 at a university near me but nothing extraordinary
I think you have a good chance at being accepted!

Hopefulintl - Im from California! What about you?

thanks Leighhopeful  and zshpin mine doesn’t say that either… I hope that doesn’t mean anything.

Oh and I’m from New Jersey!

Are there any other international students here?
Cause i highly doubt that I’m the only intl student applying… Or maybe I’m the only international student who uses Collegeconfidential and applied ED to Lehigh?
The whole time i’ve been following this thread, i havent seen anyone outside of US who applied ED… LOL Thats really not possible - the other years threads have so much intl students.

where are you from?

A country where not many students apply abroad. Many prefer to study in the local universities which I don’t mind going to at all. But I’ve decided to give the whole applying to America a shot. I don’t want to live my whole college life here asking the what if question. At least if I applied and get rejected, I can rest in peace that I tried my best anyway and there’s nothing I can do anymore - it probably was just not meant to be. My brother already goes to one of the best local universities here and I’m a legacy there (brother attends, dad attended, cousins have attended, aunts and uncles have attended) so if things don’t go the way I hoped for, then my back up plan is to study here and take up masters/MBA/Law in the US. Still hoping for the best but expecting for the worst!

Whoops I forgot to mention where - I live in the Philippines but I’m not full filipino, i’m part spanish and english is my first language so my TOEFL requirement was waived.
SATs -took them on October- really bad tho - didnt get to study for it because my finals were on the same week (School in the Phil starts at June and ends at late March) and the little slots that were offered get filled up so quickly that i did not get the chance to sign up again.
GPA and Class Rank is great! (Went down by a point on 3rd year cause of some family problems that I had) I dont go to an international school but I go to a private and nationally well-known and rigorous school for Girls only. We dont have AP/IB - there’s a standard course of about 12 subjects that everyone learns from English, PE/Health, Art, Music, History, Economics, Math (Anal Geom and Calc), Filipino, Theology/Philosophy, Physics, Filipino and Electives (which can be a Business elective, a foreign language elective or a Pre-med elective).
Extracurriculars are golden - lots of leadership positions, part of debate, editor of the yearbook, writes for the school paper, more than 300 hours of community service, many ECs from all types of things. I got sports in there, dance, debate, writing, charity, etc
Essay - honestly love my common app essay and everyone agrees too! My counselor, philosophy and english teacher even my friends and an older Filipino girl who goes to Harvard said it was very well written, unique and the impact of the story was absolutely moving. I talked about this childhood memory with my mom and i related that to greatness, kinda hard to explain. My supplement essays, I think, are good too. Had one spelling error (ugh I got so annoyed) but I told my lehigh counselor about it and she said that it’s no problem at all. I really hope that they see past the bad SAT score. :(

But no matter what, i’ve prepared myself for the rejection due to the high request of financial aid and my horrible SAT score. I really just have this huge feeling that I will get rejected/deferred so I wont be as sad if that is the decision. But i will rejoice if it is otherwise. :)

Still no news and my portal still says “Decisions for Early Decision I will be posted here in mid-December 2012,” but now I have to go to school! Hopefully I can get through my classes without paying any attention to them haha.
