Haha that’s funny, I guess I don’t either! And I’m Mike.

Wow this really embarrassing, this whole time I thought you were a girl. Haha I’m sorry, I dont even know where I got that idea… Alright well nice to meet you Mike.

Haha wow! Well I have no clue why either but now you know! Nice to meet you, too. What’s your major?

Engineering, undeclared. I’m thinking either biomedical or mechanical. What about you?

BioE

It seems to definitely be the big thing now! So many people on this thread are BioE’s!

did anyone else get deferred that you guys know of? out of all my friends that applied i am the only one

Hi everyone!

My name’s Sam (girl), and I’ve been following this thread since Mike began it (thank you by the way, it helped keep me sane during the ED waiting process!) I waited to get involved so I wouldn’t be too distracted from my schoolwork! I have some catching up to do so sorry if this is long!!

I’m so excited to be a part of the Lehigh Class of 2017! I truly just love everything about Lehigh: the campus, the programs, the people… I find myself always trying to find a random excuse to take a trip to the campus, so much that some of the professors have started recognizing me, which at first was a bit embarrassing! I can’t picture myself anywhere else, and seeing that you all share my enthusiasm and pride makes me so excited for the years ahead of us! Congrats on this amazing accomplishment everyone!!

I applied as an IDEAS major, and although I’ve been accepted to the school, I have to wait for the official letter to see if I made the cut for IDEAS! If enrolled into the program I’d probably integrate bioengineering and behavioral neuroscience. I’m so nervous to find out! Anybody else hoping for IDEAS or IBE, or have any information on when we’ll be notified?’

I’m sure you guys know that since we were accepted ED we get the “best” housing since our deposits are the first ones in. I love that we can choose out dorm, but have no clue where to even begin. Many students have told me that most kids try to get Lower Cents, so I think I’m gonna try to request there, but buildings like Dravoe and M&M have tons of students on each floor, whereas the ones in Lower Cents have two floors of twenty students each. The environments are different, but both seem nice! I’m also having a hard time picking double or triple, since the triples in lower cents are HUGE and have bathrooms. I heard on a tour though that mainly boys use the small amount triples available. What does everyone think about housing?!

Again SO EXCITED for the fall. Go mountain-hawks!!

PS- I don’t really know how to properly put my stats up but someone earlier asked for some stats to compare so I’ll give it a shot.

SAT: 2200
M: 750
R: 650
W: 800

ACT Composite: 32

Weighted GPA: 4.54
Rank: my school doesn’t

Extracurriculars/Merit:
-competitive studio dancer 25+ hours/week
- president of my school’s Pre-Med club
- associated with my school’s NHS and tutoring at school through NHS
- member of the Italian NHS
- member of a student-run dance group that puts on free performances at nursing homes
- dance teacher at my studio
- national AP scholar
- tons of community service

Current APs/dual enrollment courses :
AP Chemistry
AP Calc BC
Dual Enrollment Honors English Composition 121
Dual Enrollment Honors Italian V
Dual Enrollment Catholic Social Teachings

my school runs on block scheduling, so we have out first four classes for one semester, then switch to our second set of four classes for the second semester of the school year. APs are required to be taken all year, though, since the tests are in May. Since we only take 4 classes a day, and are required to take religion (Catholic school) and a class like gym, it is only possible to take 2 APs a year. Last year I took AP Calc AB and AP English Comp, and sophomore year I took AP Bio. 4 on the Bio exam, 5s on all others!

Hope this helps anyone still going through the application process! Don’t give up on it, it’s definitely worth it in the end!

justseeinmychanc- my friend actually got flat out rejected
i didnt even know they could do that for ED

Can rooms and bldgs be requested? Would love a triple.

I’m not 100% sure you get to pick the actual residential building you’ll be living in. At least, back in my day (two years ago) I could only choose if I wanted a single or if I wanted to join a residential community (like CHOICE, etc.)

Best,

Just to add to that. Historically, the Centennial complexes have been the largest rooms (all doubles). When I was a freshmen in Upper Cents, almost everybody in each room was an ED acceptance. A lot of them were paired with RD applicants who match the so-called “personality” test you fill out in your housing application. Thus, it is possible you won’t be paired with another ED student.

Presumably, if you request a single you start in Dravo or Richards since there are none in the Centennials.

Best,

which bldgs are the triples in?

Britsmum,

For freshmen, only Dravo.

Dravo:

McClintic-Marshall (M&M):

according to the housing blog, it looks like lower cents has triples and quads?

It looks like they do. Sorry, my mistake. I’m too used to Upper Cents I guess.

Still no letter… COME ON! Has anyone gotten theirs?

Still haven’t glotten the letter yet

No letter here yet either.

I got my letter. I live in PA. Guess I can send out my deposit earliest. :P

Haha I guess you can! But on the bright side I guess I’ll get mine tomorrow. Yours came with financial aid information, right?
