Let's Play the College Ranking Game (Plus/Minus)

1Rachel94… you were instrumental in bringing Berkeley down because you did go after the schools at the top. If it wasn’t for you, Berkeley may still be in the game. It’s a risky play to go after a school with 32 points because they could have easily taken your school out just to try to intimidate you from voting them out. Once people realized that there was no retribution, then, Berkeley had to be removed completely or it could have made a comeback.

So I was happy that someone was keeping the game interesting.

^hahahahaha r u srs

Oh, on another note, at what point in time do we only get one vote down?

It’s two votes a day (at least six hours between votes) until the end. One Up, Two Down.
Today is the final day so better come back in six hours if there are any schools left to vote for.

@ retro: The rules were changed July 24 to twice a day and then updated on August 2 to twice a day until the end. Mainly because the game was moving so slowly and many early players lost interest because they just didn’t know anything about the non USA universities.

The ‘new’ rules were randomly posted to let new people know. But you came in really late and probably didn’t realize the rules changed.

Do we really want to keep going with two votes a day though? Like it’ll end so fast and we don’t really get a chance to defend our schools. :frowning: I feel like it makes sense to draw it out now that there’re so few (all US) schools left.

Seriously?
This game started July 13th!
It needs to end.

You shouldn’t worry though, Penn is in a very strong position right now. Columbia and Princeton only have one supporter each and Penn has many people voting it up. Though due to the unpredictable nature of the game, you really don’t know who will join and vote at the last minute.

But, that said, Princeton and Columbia are very likable schools and aren’t getting the negative votes that Penn and Hopkins seem to get.

Oh, I’m not worried, I just thought I’d give the other contenders a fair chance ;)

Yep, Brown is really rather unknown. There was a girl at summer@Brown who asked me if Brown was an Ivy. Whenever I say I went to Brown for a summer course, people have no clue what it is unless they know someone who went/goes there or if theyre a counselor/teacher/etc.

^^ Ah sorry, my bad lagunal.

@dfree, Penn is the forgotten Ivy because few everyday people know it’s an Ivy save those who either went there or we’re friends and family of those who went there. I was also speaking of stereotypes that may or may not be true. Just do a quick Google search and you’ll see what I mean. Or just stop somebody in the grocery store and ask if they can list the Ivies. As the writer Nathaniel Burt once said, “Upper-class boys from all over the country, including Philadelphia, go to Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. Only from Philadelphia do upper-class boys go in any significant numbers to Penn.”

Well, Donald Trump sent his daughter, Ivanka, to Wharton School of Business at Penn. She’s a girl. But she’s definitely upper-class and she’s from NY. She started at Georgetown and transferred over her junior year. I think that t was fitting for her to choose Wharton over a HYPS school. She can always go to the other schools for a higher degree if she so inclines.

Maggie Sajak, Pat Sajak’s daughter, is in my graduating class at Princeton and my residential college. What’s your point? Wharton’s well known in the business world, but not that well known to the average joe.

EXACTLY MY POINT… Are you trying to work in the business world or do you want to work for an average joe?
