Let's say random things

Kid Cudi! Born to be a rapper

I don’t understand why there was so much coverage of that rescue. After all, it was only a minor incident! Huh huh huh huh!

-my dad on the Chilean miners. He’s a true master.

my life is bro.

Off to my Georgetown interview.

^ I’m probably late on wishing you good luck, but I hope it went well =]

Brittany and Santana are totally hot for each other on Glee.

Wow my class and I just totally failed our chapter 2 AP Calculus AB test…

Random friend request from an asian girl in England. ***.

^ she’s asian…what are you waiting for?

[I’m a little (a lot) late, but…]

Here in Brazil philosophy classes are compulsory for every high school student.

Haha, thanks. You weren’t entirely late, I was still in the interview.

Sounds like a good idea.

hey billy, how’d your georgetown interview go?

I’m not sure I like the idea of making everybody take philosophy. The most likely result seems like a dumbing down of the ideas, both for student and teacher consumption. Many philosophical ideas are really quite deep and not actually intended for general consumption. I compulsory readingof Nietzsche would have him rolling in his grave.

UChicago here I go…!!!

It would be nice if it were at least an option though.

Pretty well, thanks.

Everyone should have an education in philosophy. Many philosophies could be at least adequately covered in a high school class.

Adequately covered is a very ambiguous standard.

Yes, though one might say history should be adequately covered, and while that’s an ambiguous standard, and history cannot be explored very in depth in high school, it should still be taught there, no?

Parametrics…bleh.

History is taught in just about all of K-12. It’s not so much covered adequately in high school as it is covered more than at the previous level. And that’s basically what they do in college with philosophy, assuming HS+ level reading and critical thinking skills.
