Let's Talk Coffee Pots...

We buy on Black Friday and get one for about $9.99. So for that price, we consider it a throwaway purchase each year. I am wanting to upgrade this time around, looking for good brands/types, then will search for a Black Friday sale if possible.

I appreciate all the comments and reviews, keep them coming. Have a couple weeks before we have to decide.

I have had every coffee maker under the sun - from the $40 Mr. Coffee to the top of the line BonaVita. By far I have been happiest with my DeLonghi. I currently have the most basic one - 12 cup selling for $59.99 at Best Buy. I have come to dislike complicated gadgets with features I do not use. DeLonghi has very expensive models and they know what they are doing with coffee makers. This is a solid machine at a value price if you just want to brew a good pot of coffee.

my coffee pot requirements

 • auto shutoff
 • flip lid that allows water fill from the sink sprayer/hose
 • removable basket that makes it easy to discard grinds

my nice-to-haves

 • timer feature
 • ability to pull out pot midcycle (drop hold-back)

We used to have white. These days I prefer black and/or stainless.

@colorado_mom-You would love the Cuisinart Brew Central. It has all those features.

Thanks my-3-sons. I’ll keep that in mind if we need to replace ours. (I was just listing my criteria based on our last replacement search).

I am hoping ours lasts for a while. DH has contemplated one of the fancy pod pots, with milk frother. But he only drinks decaf, and they had limited flavors. So I have plans to talk to a friend that posted a photo/comment on FB about a milk-frother (indepenedent, no coffee maker) that she loves.

Consider getting a little stovetop ‘espresso’ maker…Walmarts in Florida have 3 and 6 cup ones for under $10 each. Use to make Cuban coffee…you won’t have to make 2 or 3 pots of auto drip coffee/day because only 1 or 2 little Cuban coffees in the morning will keep you flying until mid-afternoon.

So I got the Hubby out on date night last night, and we did check out some different styles of coffee pots. (Only made it to Walmart in our limited time frame). He seems most willing to try out the Brew Station type pot, the style that doesn’t have a carafe at all.

So, if you own, use and LOVE your Brew Station type coffee pot please post a one line response with Name and Model number (and approximate price if you know it). A link would be a bonus!

Thanks!

I saw the brew station at my local big lots today. I can not remember the price, darn. Usually big lots have great prices though

That’s the type I have. Was it a Cuisinart? I really like that type.

This was Walmart…I don’t think they “do” Cuisinart !!! I think Hamilton Beach was the only Brew Station there, but it gave the idea of what I am wanting, and Hubby agreed to give it a try. I will be searching for a sale or a Black Friday deal on a brew station.

We really like our Cuisinart - have gone through all kinds of coffeemakers from cheap to expensive. Our very expensive Italian one “crapped” in under a year and I went and bought this inexpensive one and we love it. The pot doesn’t even drip all over.
