In my Yale supplement, a word at the end of a line in my optional essay is supposed to be “of”. However, the f is partially cut off and barely legible due to the problems with cutting and pasting essays into the online application. I followed all of the instructions and suggestions for fixing the problem, but none of them worked. On the print preview, it is almost impossible to see the f but there is a dark mark there. However, when you acually print it out, the f prints out lightly but cut in half vertically, in that it is clear it is cut off. Is this a major problem??? Will they extend me some leeway in that I filed online when I could have just printed it out from Microsoft Word and not had this issue? I am worried… Should I get in touch with Yale? My dad said just let it go. (I already filed EASC).

At least it didn’t cut off the whole word, like on mine. That precious ‘I’, that precious, precious ‘I’. I was thrown off for a whole weekend because I sent it in without checking thoroughly enough. I don’t think I could have fixed it anyways. Did you try indenting that particular line so the ‘of’ is at the beginning of the next one? If nothing else, you could email your regional representative. I did, and she replied quite speedily saying she’d make a note on my application. They’re cool about it.

I agree with your dad. It will be ok.

by the way- how do you get contact info for your regional rep?
