My son did not receive a likely letter before his RD acceptance. Luckily, AFAIK, he had no idea they existed. I found out from CC, but I certainly didn’t tell him!
@luckymama64 , my son got a letter from the FA folks asking for some specific additional information in March. From years on this forum, I’d say that the later the request comes and the more specific it is, the more likely an acceptance will be forthcoming because it means they are actually putting together a package for you.
On the other hand, until you have the acceptance in hand…
I would share any such speculation with my kid. You don’t want to see hopes raised only to be dashed.
