lol, puzzle, decisions are not up yet. nobody knows for sure.
i kind of know what you mean w/ the living life around a school thing. mm. that’s how this college game goes, i guess
don’t worry, really. also, you applied to NYU early? aren’t they ED?

Majadito, I had a meeting w/ Janet Olivo last summer! She’s really, really cool. :-D

Puzzledlily, you have an excellent chance of getting in. Don’t read too much into stuff like when your application was completed, or not getting a likely letter. The majority of admits don’t get likely letters and, as far as I can tell, the application completion date doesn’t have anything to do with anything. I really, really, really, really hope you do get in.
I’d love to go to school with you!

afaforce, it seems that NYU has sent out admits already (for RD) from what i’ve been reading around these boards

primab - Yeah, it’s UM.

yeah theyre ED but i got in early in february…not going there though…
maybe NU will send me a likely today, although i doubt it because it’s soooo close to admission decisions…

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat, seriously m3??
oh man i’m scared. i was expecting nu to be my first one

NYU sent out RD acceptances for their General Studies Program, not the reg. schools. I got accepted to NYU through GSP, and I’m assuming puzzle did too

Yea, glamour’s right. I got a luggage tag and so did my roomie, but we’re both URMs. A lot of other people I know didn’t. I wouldn’t worry about it.

i called northwestern today
admissions decisions should be up march 26th
they’re mailing letters out march 26th
so eh
i thinkthe decisions are pretty much made

o well
good luck people!

thanks for the info!

If they say that they are going to be up the 26th then I look for them to be up the night of the 25th. Good luck!

wow. 26th. thanks for the info!!

2 weeks…

yay, just got that postcard today. except it’s weird 'coz it’s from the coordinator of the hispanic/latino recruitment but when i applied i put multiracial (indonesian, chinese, puerto rican, dutch or a lot of times just the first three if there wasn’t enough space). i guess they could infer that my dad’s puerto rican but still… i thought you’re only considered URM if you check off straight “hispanic” or “black” or something.

Congrats, taurustorus.

On a side note…
All of the likely letter stuff is making me feel like NU must have really hated me or something. Maybe I’m just being pessimistic because I had a crummy day.

correct me if i’m wrong, but i don’t see a lot of people getting likelies (at least not at the frequency of those who got dartmouth’s), so plz no worries. bsides, isn’t the school of communication one of the (if not the?) hardest school to get into? i know that it’s really good… i only applied to the weinberg school (arts&science). so no point speeding up your aging process–only ~2 more weeks!! =)

Actually, it’s just 9 days. We can see the decisions online on the 26th (next Saturday).

I don’t know if Communications is the hardest to get into though it may be up there (no clue). I think Medill may be more rigorous in which to get accepted b/c of the journalism though. I think it may be just because it’s THIS site why there are so many people getting those letters (a little bit more driven of a population than the usual). However, it’s still a mental torture when others are getting them, and you’re not getting one.

I’m just freaking out because I don’t want to get rejected (hasn’t happened yet either). Hopefully, my luck will continue, but if not, eh… It’s out of my hands now, and technically, I’m in a “win win” situation since I’ll have a great school to go to no matter what. I also had a slightly crummy day outside of college stuff so that’s another reason why my posts are slightly flared right now (just a lot of people around me doing dumb stuff that would anger anyoene).

Reeses, I seriously commend you for being so passionate about northwestern, its an amazing school. I think you have a great chance, and my advice is just to relax and hope for the best. From reading your posts, you already got mich, which is awesome (same as me lol), so I am sure you will end up somewhere amazing. Good luck!

Dog87 - Good luck on your end as well. I haven’t quite decided whether or not the passion thing is a good thing or just plain stupidity on my part. A good thing is that I also have passion for Michigan (my fellow Wolverine, maybe?) so if I do get rejected, I think that’ll begin to show itself pretty quickly.

It’s kind of off topic but…
Michael Phelps only swam the 200 butterfly in the Olympics, right? How about Kristy Kewal and the 200 breaststroke? I looked this stuff up but am just making sure I didn’t miss anything.

Michael Phelps swam A LOT in the Olympics… he got six golds.
