Was mentioned upthread, but I second Kansas as a good safety. Midsize campus (maybe on the larger end of midsize?), great college town, great school spirit, significant Jewish life, automatic merit for this student. Of all the many tours we did with D22, I think Kansas had the friendliest, most approachable students. D22 was prepared to accept there if she hadn’t been admitted at a reach school.
