Tulane anyone???

Sorry, could not find Tulane’s CDS.

Found a listing of departments, including an office for institutional research (the normal home for CDS’, factbooks, etc.) but the dept has no page of its own. Tulane is in fine company with other less-than-transparent institutions like Harvard & Wash U. I suspect they may not wish to have their numbers publicized with all of the Katrina turmoil, perhaps (speculating, I don’t have hard data) causing a dip in apps & higher acceptance rates than historic, which may look “bad” in the face of general admissions trends in the opposite directions.

ps…tiff90, if you are feeling bold, I wouldn’t hesitate in asking (no harm there) the IR folks listed on the following page if they can send you their CDS:
http://www2.tulane.edu/external/instrsrch.htm</a></p>

Don’t have a CDS for Tulane but at a visit to the Honors program last weekend they mentioned that the average SAT (CR R+ Math) this year was 1346.

I really want to go to Tulane, got a 1320/2040 but applied RD(wish I did EA based on the scholarships/honors) and am waitlisted. I just wanted to see the chances of getting off the waitlist. I have been talking/leaving messages with people in admissions, because I know the matriculation rate is low (11%)

from Tulane’s admissions profile:

USNews (which is based on last year’s CDS’s) reports:

tiff90-- keep up your persistence…that should make a difference. Good luck.

Yes. It would be helpful to a lot of parents and students if each of us CC participants who has interest in a particular college would ask the college to post its Common Data Set filings on the World Wide Web, as so many colleges do these days. Let’s change the culture by asking colleges to be more transparent. I sent such a letter to Georgetown University a couple years ago after trying to Google up Georgetown’s Common Data Set info and finding that of Georgetown College (KY) instead. My alma mater posts its Common Data Set info, and I think every college should. I have also mentioned that idea in the email list for college officers who maintain Common Data Set filings. Transparency and openness is good.

100% agree tokenadult…I too have emailed the pres & IR folks at my son’s school, Colgate, with the same request (to no avail…yet) to get with the 21st century and be more transparent.

tiff90-- one other snippet from the USNews data on Tulane…this tells me that you have hope & you should not let up in demonstrating your interest in attending:

So, almost 50% came off the wait list, which is a MUCH higher percentage than most other selective schools. Katrina effect might be at play here (2006 freshman class), meaning those coming off the wait list might be fewer now as Tulane’s popularity re-grows, but I’d bet you still have a very strong shot.

Here is Brown University’s common data set:

<a href=“Office of Institutional Research | Brown University”>Office of Institutional Research | Brown University;

Thanks!!!
Found out they offered 2,000 people a spot on the waitlist. Crossing my fingers…

Wesleyan finally puts CDS online: [Office of Institutional Research](http://www.wesleyan.edu/ir/cds/cds.htt)

Reply from Notre Dame regarding the CDS:

I will continue to pursue this info (especially since S1 was waitlisted from this application pool as a double+ legacy), and post if I learn more.

I received the following information from Notre Dame in response to my inquiry:

Please find attached an Excel spreadsheet that contains most of the data you requested (unfortunately, Notre Dame does not disclose grade information in our CDS or in general); thank you for your inquiry and have a great afternoon!
