<p>Adelphis databooks, published annually since the 1999 edition, provide a wealth of information about Adelphis students, faculty, finances, and comparisons to other schools. Hard copies of the databook are available on request from ORAP.</p>

<p>Adelphi went thru a tough time in the early 1990’s resulting in the removal of Peter Diamandopoulos, the President of the University, and the Board of Trustees by the New York State Board of Regents. This was an action virtually without precedent, The Regents acted to halt the alleged looting of the University by Diamandopoulos and the Trustees.</p>

Diamandopoulos was the President of Adelphi from 1985 to 1997. In 1996, the New York State Board of Regents (“Regents”) conducted hearings on a petition which alleged that Diamandopoulos, along with the other Trustees, were guilty of neglect of duty, misconduct and failure to carry out the educational purposes of Adelphi. The report found that all but one recently appointed Trustee had breached their fiduciary duties to Adelphi, in, inter alia, granting a compensation package to Diamandopoulos which was excessive. The Regents removed Diamandopoulos and 17 others as Trustees of the University, and appointed 18 new Trustees. At the first meeting of the new Board of Trustees, Diamandopoulos was also removed as president of Adelphi.

<p>The New Adelphi Board of Trustees, appointed by the NYS Board of Regents, has been working to improve the University. Dr. Robert A. Scott was appointed by the Adelphi University Board of Trustees as the ninth president and professor of anthropology and sociology in July 2000. He has built on Adelphi’s rich traditions in undergraduate and graduate education and continues to link the liberal arts and sciences with professional programs. He has been the driving force behind the success Adelphi University has achieved in the past four years. Undergraduate enrollment has increased by 43 percent since September 2000. To support the increase in students, more than 140 new faculty have been hired, with 34 in fall 2003 and 42 in fall 2004. The University recently completed its first new residence hall in 36 years to accommodate growing student demand. Alumni giving has risen by nearly 620 percent. In recent years, the University has received several million-dollar gifts, the largest in its history.
I think that the 6 year graduation rates will improve dramatically under the current University Leadership.</p>
<p>alas rich, I normally search “institutional research”, but missed that one. I never knew all of this about Adelpi. I observe that if an institution can survive such an upset, it usually always comes out stronger & better.</p>
<p>Wow I even more motivated to apply to the school. i didn’t know about that part of the history of the school. It is really doing ok after surviving all that turmoil.</p>
<p>I’ve been all over the internet looking for GPA data…it seems to be the most unreported stat…but it’s the most important…what’s the big deal with colleges hiding average GPAs?</p>
<p>Actually, I think it is the high schools that don’t want to report GPA’s or class rank.</p>

<p>URochester does not have a CDS but uses a factbook which is pretty comprehensive…applied/admitted/enrolled figures undergrad, grad, etc.</p>

<p>THis list is amazing and have used it many times. I was helping a family friend who has been waitlisted at BC. Neither of the factbook links have wait list info and when I called both enrollment management and admissions they act as tho you are asking for their social security number. I have noticed that several of the better catholic school keep their numbers locked away. Does anyone have and BC wait list info. thanks.</p>
