@DramaMama2021 can tell you the many benefits of the Johnson at WL…in addition to the scholarship money.

Here’s career info on Lafayette. You can set to Econ. I used both 23 and 24.

It looks like 72% employed and 20% continuing education. $77k average and $75k median.

It lists companies and titles. Also grad schools attending.

If this helps. You can ask W&L for similar. I couldn’t find a board sorted by major there. But attached the job report.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Congratulations. Was there another school on your list besides Lafayette and W&L that was at the top of your list? The schools that offered merit might offer a little more if you ask. It’s house money at this point. Just a thought. That said, you have some great options. Good luck.

The only schools that have similar interest are U Richmond and Kenyon. With Richmond offering nothing, I dont think there is much to be gained there. I dont know if Kenyon would potentially go higher, but I supposed it wouldn’t hurt to ask to see if anything happens.

You could try but I doubt Kenyon would add enough to be competitive but you never know. My advice would be to think it over. If by some chance Kenyon upped their offer considerably it would be rude to decline. It’s not much different than negotiating a new job. If the employer meets your demands it’s bad manners to walk away. If it’s first on your list go for it. JMHO.

For someone who started seeking merit, getting Johnson is tremendous. If the environment is right for you, that’s another $80k over Lafayette for more school, a car or anything else. Don’t forget it’s not just all tuition room and board but also enrichment money.

Apologies, I failed to respond to this tag.

OP, my D is a Johnson at W&L and has loved her time in Lexington. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Congratulations on your student’s amazing options!!

My daughter is a freshman at Kenyon today (and LOVES it!). After acceptance last year, we sent Kenyon copies of letters from other schools that offered more merit and Kenyon matched at least a portion. Definitely have the student write to financial aid and send them competing offers.
