<p>^ The opportunity to use T/P funds for summer school is called Exceptional Funding. It funds up to 8 units for Trustee, Mork and Stamps scholars and 1/2 of up to 8 units for Presidential scholars (and no, Presidential scholars cannot choose to take full funding for 4 units 
). The units may be taken over the summer (you may use all 8 or just a few and save some for future use) or during Fall or Spring semesters to pay for extra units over the 18 included in flat-rate tuition (up to 2 per semester).</p>

<p>And the SURF/SOAR/Provost opportunities are extraordinary! My student wrote a proposal as a freshman and was on a plane for 2 months of fully-funded research abroad at the close of freshman year.</p>
