<p>The quest for an appointment is a competition. You will compete in your congressional district - if one person ranks higher than you then that person will get the nomination if the competitive method is used.<br>
you will compete in the pool of presidential nominees. The academy can only appoint 100 from that pool.<br>
Finally you will compete in the National Pool and the candidate will be ranked according to whole candidate score.</p>
<p>Mid December is way too early to start worrying.</p>
<p>Honestly - I just went back and read #14 - you don’t have any demonstrated leadership other than team captain.<br>
You are competing against candidate who have all the academics that you have plus athletics PLUS leadership. There is a hole here - will it hurt you? I have no idea. </p>
<p>Like I have said before - posted “stats” rarely tell the whole story about a candidate.</p>
