Lofting beds in Canaday

Hi! I’m going to be a freshman at Harvard in the fall and I will be in Canaday. I really want to loft my bed for more space, but looking at the YouTube videos, it seems like the beds are metal, meaning I could only get plastic risers which don’t allow you to raise your bed very high. If anyone has been in Canaday, have you lofted your bed, and how did you do it?

You’ll probably have better luck getting an answer to your question on the subreddit for Harvard. It’s also the kind of question that is typically posed on the Harvard parents group on Facebook.

Or ask the Office of Reseidential Life.

The challenge is that Residential Life will give the official answer, while a student will give the practical answer.

In the parents group, I’ve seen recommendation for adjustable risers. There’s so much variability in room layouts even within dorms that it is hard to plan. We’re struggling trying to figure out what will fit in the Wigg 3rd floor suites given the sloped ceilings and dormers.

Yes very hard to plan! I wish they gave us the layout and dimensions. What’s the parents group called?

The one I participate in is called “Parents of Harvard Class of 2028”. There may be others.
