You say that… But just because they got 4.0s and a Truman Scholarships does NOT mean they’re good. I’ve heard some very interesting stories about one of them (I’m not saying which one, you just can’t judge people by their GPAs, especially here).

now you got me all curious

I assure you, far more than two cadets in each class get above a 4.0.

How do you get above a 4.0?

feasting upon the heart of a vanquished foe

It’s how the grades are weighted here. A “C” is a 2.0, while a C- will be a 1.67 or so. Accordingly, an “A-” is not a 4.0, but an A+ is above that level. You will meet some individuals here that will never get below a 4.0 for any given semester while they are here. In addition, classes are weighted depending on how many credit hours they are worth, so getting an A in a class like MA204 which like like 4.5 credits will help your QPA more than getting an A in MS class worth .5 credits (or the converse is true, hence why you will often see low GPAs for plebes and yuks who must take many math and science courses which tend to be very credit hour heavy).

You can get above a 4.0 (I am familiar with one who did). It’s the A+ on the courses like chem and calc that can really push it up. Academically that cadet was ranked 7th in the class, (4th overall). Those were in adv calc and adv chem classes by the way :)

Ah, yes I relized that I was reading a in the ND forum and some kid said he wanted it least a 3.6 every semester and the student there said thats near impossible. Sorry about that…

ND is Notre Dame, just in case you were unaware.

Hmmm…wonder whose daughter that was?
