DD is a Freshman at Lipscomb University in Nashville TN. it sounds like it might fit your wishes. Enrollmant was 3050 starting this past school year. Nice small campus, but has the benefit of being in the middle of a reasonable sized city with plenty of things to do. The school is Chruch of Christ based but we have not seen where they push their specific beliefs on the students (DD is not COC). The school is VERY good at getting the kids involved in service activities across the city and wants to build good well rounded adults.

DD absolutley loves it there and has built a lot of good friends in the short time she has been on campus. She got a substancial automatic merit award for her ACT scores (which were no where near a 34) and if I remember the fliers correctly they offered automatic tuition full rides for National Merit.

Not sure what sports your sone participated in. They do not have a football team, but do have very competitive basketball and baseball programs.

Not sure if someone mentioned this, but the University of Evansville close to the Indiana/Kentucky border has MULTIPLE large scholarships. Depending on the applicant’s rank in the class, he could qualify for full tuition. Some departmental scholarships can also be stacked with the larger academic scholarships. Has about 2400 students.

Lipscomb looks like it is just for Christians, though.

Many small liberal arts schools offer great aid. I saw someone on here write that Kalamazoo College only offers four $20k scholarships a year and that is not true.

Their merit-based aid is ranged from $5-17k per year, and the average student receives on average $10,000 per year, and that’s climbing. The vast majority of students receive that scholarship.

^ That was me, and it is true, although you misinterpreted it. I meant that K-Zoo only offers four 20k scholarships (the highest amount)–lesser aid is plentiful, as you said, but as far as I know they do not stack and cover less than half-COA.
