Connecticut College, Weslyan, maybe Tufts.
If you’re considering the West Coast, look into Scripps. She will have access to wider world of the 5-college Claremont Consortium there, and it’s only an hour to central L.A.
St. Olaf has about 3000 students, so it is on the bigger end for a LAC. I would say that Northfield (where St.Olaf and Carleton are located) is rural, not suburban. Not a place with big box stores, and subdivisions.
St.Olaf would be a match, not a reach. Maybe even a safety?
@57special, agree that neither big box store nor subdivisions are what a Gen Z student is interested in. That said the combined 5,000 students and the city of Northfield with a population of 20,000 provide a fairly rich area as compared to many other LAC locations.
No argument from me about Northfield. Not an exciting place, but pleasant, and the presence of 5,000 students and the Twin cities about 45 min away( large suburb of Lakeville only 15 min)make it less isolated than some LAC’s.
