Lost passport while traveling

Well, it depends on how “wrinkled” it gets when you wear it for a week. We wore ours the entire 3 weeks we were in Europe & had no problems–still looked brand new at the end of our trip. We weren’t hiking and I mostly wore it on the small of my back. In any case, it was never stolen & I’ll likely continue to wear mine that way until I figure out anything better.

Sorry, tried a money belt and found it mighty uncomfortable. Instead had clothes with either inside pockets in the front or left the passport in the safe in the hotel. Did this for three weeks. I tried one of those neck things too…and that was worse.

Personally, HATE those neck things as well. Actually, when I wore the money belt over my thermals & under my outer garments, didn’t feel it at all. When I wore it backwards (the clasp portion in front & the pouch portion to the back), it fit better & didn’t make my clothing look bunched up. Don’t believe the B&Bs I stayed at had safes.

We were in a tropical climate…no layers there.

Well, you had a hotel safe, so that works. With tropical climate, I think I’d be sure to keep my things in waterproof ziplock in the moneybelt. Don’t see that it would make much bulk worn under featherweight slacks or skirt.

Yay! Always kept a copy somewhere else. Remember, a copy somewhere else.

perhaps this is the better way to wear it. I wore mine around the hip so I could get to it if I needed to. Generally I kept the money I thought I would need for the day in a pocket. If I lose the 40 euros, oh well. Can’t lose multiple credit cards, the passport, and 3 figure euro amounts though.
